I’ve been dealing with my mother and her mental health issues, and the last couple years have been difficult. One of the things that’s really helped me is learning how to deal with her issues. It’s also helped me pertaining to my employment because a lot of people living in our facility have mental health issues. One of things that I want to do and am really looking at doing is asking, “how can I improve the living environment and well-being of inmates living inside our facility?”

I want to do as much as I can possibly do to make sure that inmates living in our facility with mental health issues have a better quality of life inside of our jail and also outside of our jail. I want to come up with different programs for these guys inside of our jail to help them transition out.
