Maria Sobocinski with Violet Jean

“Finally, she was born. Whenever someone says, “Think of the happiest moment of your life,” I always think about having a little sister. When she was born, when the nurse lifted her up, I started crying.”

I always prayed for a little sister. Then, my parents told me that my mom was pregnant and I got so excited. It was one of the happiest moments of my life. Finally, she was born. Whenever someone says, “Think of the happiest moment of your life,” I always think about having a little sister. When she was born, when the nurse lifted her up, I started crying.

I was in the delivery room and I got to cut the umbilical cord. It was the happiest moment of my life. I knew it would be. I got to hold her before my dad, so that was cool! I got to hold her after my mom, because obviously the mother should hold the baby first. When I looked at her, I gave her a kiss and I said, “I will always love you for the rest of my life.” My life is really happy now because she’s born. My sister’s name is Violet Jean.
