It’s easy to grow older here in Pittsburgh because they still bring in musicians that I can relate to from back in the day, and they bring in new musicians that I also find I like. I liked mostly the hard rock bands. What we considered “hard rock” would’ve been like Led Zeppelin and The Doors. We had our soul music too. No matter where you went, you had both soul music and rock. I’m talking about the dances that we’d go to and the bands would be there. I have tons of ticket stubs from my days, and photographs. But that’s the part about getting older, I don’t see as many people my age still doing these things. There are a few and it seems like we all embrace each other once you find out that you’re the same age. Get out there and do as much as you can now because you don’t know when that first stroke, or heart attack, or cancer is going to hit you. You’ve got to grasp it now. Don’t say, “I’m going to wait till I retire.” Just get out and rock on!
