“We didn’t like each other because I was Protestant and she’s Catholic. Back then that was bad news. But, if you’ve got good food and you got good sex, everything else falls in line.”
David
Life changed when we decided to start dating each other, 62 years ago in 1954. ’55 we were married, but we’ve known each other since we’ve been 12.
Dolly
Didn’t like each other then.
David
The reason we didn’t like each other, I was Protestant, and she’s Catholic. Back then, that was bad news. You just didn’t do that.
Dolly
I’m still Catholic, and he’s sort of a non-believer.
David
I see all these people going to church, and think to myself, “if there’s a God, why is he letting us kill each other the way we are?” If I was God, I’d put a stop to that. If you respect other people, you’re going to do fine.
I‘ll tell you what, if you’ve got good food and you got good sex, everything else falls in line. That means a partner that you love and respect. You go up and down the ladder of life, and you’re still together and you’re happy.
